Discover more about our Nutrix: Voice Alert

  • A dementia friendly fall alarm

The impact of noise on people with dementia is particularly important in a care setting. Dementia often alters how the person perceives external stimuli, such as noise and light, and as hearing is linked to balance, this also leads to a greater risk of falls. This can come from a loss of balance or an increase in disorientation in an environment that is overstimulating and noisy.

The Voice Alert allows the carer to record a few simple instructions in a voice familiar to the patient. This friendly prompt reduces anxiety and confusion and is often sufficient to engage the patient, allowing the carer time to attend.

    Caring for our carers

An initial diagnosis of dementia, Alzheimer's disease or any other life changing condition can be equally overwhelming for those caring for the patient. It is not uncommon for a carer to feel like they are living on a knife edge with no chance of a break.

All of our alarms provide some respite to both home and professional carers, offering the peace of mind that they will be alerted should an emergency arise.

  • Simple Operation

    Select alarm
Besides a standard tone, a custom voice message can be recorded for sensitive or easily confused patients. Alternatively, the device can be muted and connected to a nurse-call system.

    Select mode
As well as a magnetic pull cord, the Voice Alert can be set to detect when a patient applies pressure or removes pressure from a sensor mat. This allows the carer to cater for a wide variety of care situations.

    Position sensor mat
Sensor mats should be placed directly below the patient when used in pressure-off mode or immediately in front of the patient in pressure-on mode. Bed mats should be placed across the bed.
